In addition to the original letters, there are typescripts and a copy of the letter reporting Greenlee's death made by Mary M. Greenlee.

There are four letters from the period 1870 to 1885. Several letters in 1855 discuss the student unrest at Davidson over student suspensions and the donation by Maxwell Chambers.
